Measurements 1. Max - maximum height
of the surface relative to the mean line through the surface.
2.
Min - minimum depth of the surface relative to the mean line through the
surface.
3.
Depth - range of variation in the surface contour, Max minus Min.
4.
Depth Average - average of depth for all scans taken with a single
trigger.
5.
Depth Standard Deviation - standard deviation of the depth for all scans
taken with a single trigger.
Industry Examples 1. Building
Materials - monitor surface pattern on composite residential siding
board.
2. Stamping - inspect stamped
surface for evidence of wear to tooling.
3. Aeronautics - quality
check to specifications of external dimpling pattern on exhaust manifolds.
Sensors
and Controllers The size of the surface
features being analyzed and the distance between those features will determine
which sensor field-of-view is needed. This application normally requires
a wider field-of-view as provided by the HS300 sensor. Any of the
sensors and controllers could be used for this application.
