operation, both the graph of the contour and any extracted measurements
are displayed simultaneously. The keypad and display can also be
used with the on-screen measurement tools to interactively extract measurements
from a displayed contour. Zooming and panning enable the user to
make high resolution on-screen measurements. Repetitive measurements
can be made automatically through programs which identify and analyze features
and then log the values to a table. Programmability is the key to
the system's flexibility enabling it to be used for many specific gauging
applications.
Measurement
data can be printed using the Centronicsâ-compatible
printer port. The LGCommunicator software allows data files
and profile scans to be downloaded to a PC via the RS-232 serial port for
subsequent use in spreadsheets or with other application software.
The controller comes with
an AC adapter for continuous use and it can be powered by battery belts
or battery packs for truly portable applications. A soft-sided carrying
case with shoulder strap protects the system during transport and makes
portable use of the system convenient. |
