Controllers can be powered using a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, much like a laptop battery, or using an a/c adapter.

Standoffs help the operator to quickly position the sensor for accurate measurements. They are not required and not a factor in the measurement. Most standoffs are removable, allowing one LaserGauge to be used for multiple applications.

Blocks or standards with certified dimensions can be used to periodically check the calibration of the LaserGauge.
